Abortion: The Great Lie
I promised that my blog was not going to be political, and it is not, but I want you to know that abortion is an example of the spiritual warfare that happens in the world. We have focused, recently, on Habakkuk 1 : 5 which says:
Look among the nations and watch-Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you.
Admittedly, this is difficult for us to understand because, by our nature, we like to think we are in complete control, but if our recent studies have taught us anything it is that only God is sovereign. Through HIs Holy Word, God has warned us that we fight a powerful yet invisible enemy.
Ephesians 6 : 10 - 12 tells us about this enemy and the war in which we are engaged.
10 Finally, my brethren be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Our enemy is Satan and not flesh and blood. Our problems in this society are not flesh and blood but the rulers of darkness, and one of the biggest problems we face is abortion, and it is built completely on a lie propagated by the devil.
Look at this verse.
John 8 : 44
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Consider abortion in the context of Ephesians 6 and John 8 : 44. We fight an invisible enemy who Jesus Christ said was a murderer from the beginning, and to accomplish his desired result, Satan’s main methodology is the lie.
Abortion accomplishes Satan’s goal. There is no doubt with modern technology one can easily see the baby inside a mother’s womb is clearly alive. That baby possesses at that time all of his or her DNA sequencing, all of his or her personality traits, and everything else that makes that little one a person. Satan’s goal is to rob those babies of the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as his or her Savior. Satan knew he, in this modern “civilized” era, could not do as he once did and have babies thrown into the Nile River to the crocodiles, so he convinced women that they should and do have the right to choose to legally kill that little baby. He also convinced the nine justices of the US Supreme Court by a vote of 7-2 to rule that a woman did indeed have the right to choose to kill a living being.
Dear friend, I am not condemning anyone, but abortion is against the sovereign will of God. The Bible says that God knew us before we were even conceived and to rob that baby of the opportunity to live is wrong and a sin, but Christians have not done all they could to address the issue because we have trusted politicians and justices to solve the problem instead of doing what God said. How are we to fight this invisible enemy and his attack on humanity in the form of abortion?
The book of Ephesians tells us. (Ephesians 6 : 13 - 18)
We are to put on the whole armor of God.
We are to gird our waist with His truth.
We are to put on the breastplate of righteousness.
We are to shod our feet with the gospel of peace.
We are to take the helmet of salvation.
We are to take the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and if we put these things on, we will quench the fiery darts of the wicked one.
As a Christian and I know I speak for others, I am ready to put on the armor of God. I am ready to put the devil on the run. I am ready for scourge of abortion to be removed from our land. What about you?
